LUMA 2020 Mural Mapping

LUMA 2020 Mural Mapping

CALL FOR ARTISTS:
LUMA Projection Arts Festival invites you to be a part of the 2020 festival this coming Sept. 10th, 11th, and 12th! Your artwork could be featured as a projection on the facade of the historic Stone Opera House in the heart of Downtown Binghamton at 33 Chenango St.

The “Mural Mapping Project” transforms your artwork into a larger than life mural through projection mapping technology. In collaboration with Cooperative Gallery 213, LUMA invites artists to submit “Mural Mapping” proposals using drawing, painting, and collage on one of our templates.

Our templates, available in both digital and physical formats, detail important structural features of the Stone Opera House, and accepted submissions will be translated by LUMA team members to bring the facade to life through projection mapping technology. We encourage interested parties to fully integrate the architecture of the Stone Opera House when creating their proposals. This will increase your chances of being selected as a contributor to the LUMA 2020 Mural Mapping Project.

DETAILS:
Populate the template with your artwork or vision: We accept both digital submissions and physical artworks created using our templates. Digital templates are available for download below. Physical templates consist of a finite number of 18” x 24” canvas board and paper templates. You can order a physical template here. The exact template must be used to ensure an accurate projection.

Application fee: If using a digital template, the $10 application fee is due when turning in your artwork at the following link: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme2/lumafest. If using one of our physical canvases, this application fee is due immediately and the canvas will be mailed upon payment.

Deadline to submit works: July 1st by 4PM, for both digital and physical entries. Digital entries may be submitted to LUMAMuralMapping@gmail.com. Please indicate your payment method when submitting works via email. Physical artworks will be collected at the Cooperative Gallery 213 on State Street in Binghamton during their hours of operation (Fridays 3pm – 6pm, Saturdays 12pm – 4pm). Please clearly label physical artwork on the back with your name and email address.

Notification of Artwork Inclusion: August 8th via email.
