THRESHOLD turns light, water, and reflection into a shifting boundary between one spatial condition and another. Projected light moves across water, forming fields of illumination that change with movement, atmosphere, and viewpoint. Rather than presenting a fixed image, Travis Chao builds a physical environment visitors can approach, cross, and inhabit. As the work continually redefines itself, water, light, and space become difficult to distinguish, inviting audiences to slow down and see a familiar site differently.
