In Medias Res is a live stereoscopic projection performance that uses shadow play, live animation, mechanized puppetry, video feedback, and experimental projection to immerse audiences in impossible spaces and landscapes. Presented in anaglyphic 3D and drawing on techniques developed by American experimental cinema pioneer Ken Jacobs, the work expands projection into a live cinematic event. Designed and performed by Binghamton University Cinema MFA graduates Benjamin Stone and Brian Gray, it includes collaborations with experimental cinema and animation classes across both performances.
